Painted Song
First LP 1980
Evolving out of the local folk scene of Omaha, Nebraska several of us drove to a farm in Yankton, South Dakota where a converted chicken coup was the sound booth and a barn was our recording studio. A large communal dinner afterwards and a solid sleep set all of us back down to Omaha. I was fortunate enough to have such talent contribute to my scores. Not to mention the learning curve for a young twenty-seven year old who was reaching for the stars. The event was experiential and a beautiful memory and a dream completed.
Modern Hero
Second LP 1986
Moving to New York in 1985 opened many opportunities and survival struggles. My musical friendships were not “folk musicians”, but rather rock and rollers . One of those, Kol Marshall became my coproducer and engineer. Tracks were created anywhere from a closet to an open window with rain. Some, (really improvisational performances), were layered with additional musical tracks added later. A joy to create, learn, and fulfill a musical vision.
Our Times
Third LP 1999
As Artistic Director of the Our Times Coffeehouse on Long Island at the Ethical Humanists Society I met many talented musicians. These songs are a collection of works previously published and additional new works. The musicians vary from local to national talents. The cover painting in many ways is who I have become, from the plans of Nebraska to up here in the mountains of Western Maine.
