PLACES ON THE PLANET

Since 1964, Dennis has been taking photographs, recording a life of travel and creative images.

“Photography is about capturing natural light in the most spontaneous, momentary, image possible. Luck and preparedness mixed with chance encounters gives one my photographic portraitures. It is all about natural light to me. I began to self study photography at age fourteen because of travel plans to Asia. From that point on I owned my own camera and wrote a journal. I was photographing a foreign world that opened up to me in Pakistan. There was no school class in photography and I wanted to record memories of my travels.  This was how I began writing and photographing. The smell of oil paint was ever present in my grandmother’s and our home. My mother painted landscapes. I wanted to learn these talents at a young age. Art and Photography is magic to me.”
